Austin Friars School in Carlisle is celebrating the achievements of its Upper Sixth pupils following the publication of A Level results for 2026, with several impressive individual performances and exciting destinations confirmed.

Among the standout performers was Louisa Farrer, who achieved three A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. Louisa will now take a gap year before pursuing her ambition of a career in Veterinary Medicine.

Ernestine Koo also achieved three A* grades in Biology, Mathematics and Further Mathematics, alongside an A grade in AS Physics. Ernestine has gained her first-choice university place at the University of Bath, where she will study Mathematics and Statistics.

School Captain Beth Baikie achieved an A in Psychology and Bs in Biology and Geography and will continue her studies at the University of Glasgow, reading Geography.

There was further success for Imogen Irving, who achieved A, A, A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. Imogen will now go on to study Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh.

The school is also delighted that Dillon Nixon, Euan Campbell and Crispin Bloomer will all go on to study Aerospace Engineering at the University of Lancashire, University of Liverpool and Northumbria University, respectively.

Katie Stevens will move on to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to study Law, after achieving an A* in Mathematics and A grades in Economics and English Literature.

It is testimony to their hard work and the support delivered by their teachers, and we now wish them all good fortune as they move into their next phase."

These achievements reflect the hard work, determination and resilience shown by pupils throughout their time at Austin Friars, alongside the dedication and support of staff and families.

The school are immensely proud of all pupils receiving their results and of the way they have approached the challenges of their Sixth Form studies.

Results day marks the culmination of years of hard work and an exciting moment as pupils prepare to begin the next stage of their lives at university, in further study, employment and beyond.
