Each student belongs to one of three Houses: Clare, Lincoln or Stafford. The House structure is a real strength of the School and is central to the strong sense of community in which older and younger students mix freely. Each House has a member of staff as Head of House:
Clare House: Mrs Evans
Lincoln House: Ms Cantley
Stafford House: Mrs Boyling
The Head of House leads a team of house-based tutors and other colleagues to organise and co-ordinate house-based activities which ensure that a sense of belonging runs through the School. The spiritual, charitable, cultural, sporting and social programmes organised through the House provide opportunities for students to be involved in the wider life of the School.
Understanding and respecting others, learning to express oneself and yet to be tolerant and developing friendships with a wide range of people are traits we look to cultivate in our students as we seek to be true to our Augustinian roots. We also seek to nurture a culture of responsibility and a sense of service in our students, and the House system is very much at the heart of this.
The inter-House competitions involve nearly all pupils and engender a keen sense of ‘house spirit’ and friendly rivalry.
