Austin Friars is an independent, co-educational, all-inclusive Augustinian day school that does not distinguish at entry on the basis of creed or ethnic background.
Austin Friars nurtures a love of learning, a spirit of enquiry and the pursuit of excellence within a disciplined and stimulating environment.
Austin Friars is inspired by the traditions of St Augustine, and through its motto In Omnibus Caritas, to the ideal of being a united community that cares for the well-being and development of all its members.
Austin Friars defines education as fostering through challenge; supporting each pupil’s intellectual, social, physical, aesthetic, cultural, moral and spiritual development.
Austin Friars is committed to, and takes pride in, equipping its young people with skills for life enabling each to become confident, modest and articulate young men and women.
School Aims
At Austin Friars, we strive to create an environment where every pupil feels confident to explore their potential without fear of failure, recognising that true success often comes from stepping outside one’s comfort zone.
Our focus extends far beyond academic achievement. We aim to inspire curious, enthusiastic learners who are building foundations to live rich and fulfilling lives beyond school - prepared to enter a dynamic work and social environment which is changing day-by-day.
Guided by the Augustinian values of Unity, Truth, and Love, we seek to live these principles daily, not simply display them on our walls. Through our broad extra-curricular programme, pupils further develop the skills and attributes that will serve them well long after their time at Friars.
Confidence, cooperation, and collaboration sit at the heart of our approach, alongside the ability to think critically, solve problems, manage time effectively, and learn independently.
Our small class sizes and close relationships between pupils and staff foster a genuine sense of community - where everyone is willing to go the extra mile for one another, as a family would.
