During the year pupils make out-of-School visits which are linked to the curriculum, providing hands-on experience to enhance teaching and learning in science, history and geography.
Visits to galleries, exhibitions, drama and music performances widen the children’s cultural experiences as well as providing great enjoyment and the opportunity to develop social skills. Throughout the year, as religious and cultural celebrations take place, the pupils learn about how these events are celebrated. This is also linked to MFL lessons where the children specifically look at events being celebrated in other countries..
Fundraising events raise awareness of both global and local issues and aid pupils’ moral development. Pupils develop a sense of responsibility and learn the skills of good citizenship.
Through visits from members of the local community pupils learn about staying safe and healthy.
By taking part in performances, representing House teams or playing in a music group pupils’ personal development is enhanced on all levels.

Pupils are given time to be reflective and to contemplate their actions. This nurtures spiritual development. Harvest Festival, School Mass and Liturgical assemblies held throughout the year are times when the School community worships together in chapel.
A robust outdoor education programme provides pupils with residential and day visits in the Lake District National Park.
