Welcome from Miss Simpson

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is an incredibly special part of our school - where curiosity, play and exploration are at the heart of everything we do.

We believe that children learn best when they feel happy, safe, and inspired. Our days are filled with opportunities to play, ask questions, solve problems and make discoveries. We want our children to develop independence and confidence, and to know that their ideas matter.

Having been an Austin Friars pupil myself (and now a parent of two boys at the School), I know first-hand how unique and welcoming its community is. There is a genuine ‘family’ feel, something I've experienced consistently in my work with young people since first joining as a teacher in 2006.

As the school’s Forest School Leader, I’m particularly passionate about getting children outdoors and helping them build a real connection with nature. Whether we’re exploring the woods, planting vegetables, or simply noticing the changes in the seasons, the outdoors offers endless opportunities for learning and imagination.

As the EYFS SENDCo and Designated Safeguarding Lead, I work closely with families and staff to make sure every child feels supported and valued. No two children are the same, and that’s something we celebrate every single day.

Childhood is cherished and learning is full of wonder. I would love to welcome you to visit us and see our children exploring and learning together in this warm and vibrant community that I am so proud to be part of.
